Joseph was imprisoned “where the king’s prisoners
were bound” (39:20; see Psalm 105:17-20).  Though
understandably angry (see 39:19), Potiphar put Joseph in the “house of the captain of the
guard” (40:3),—certainly not the worst prison available. 
For a foreigner charged with raping and Egyptian official’s wife, Joseph’s
sentence might be considered light.

The Angel's 

In Chapter 61, the
Israelites corrupt themselves, but there is a consequence for their ungodly
idolatry; the Lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty
years. Verses 2-7 tell of an Angel that was sent by God to announce the birth
of a deliverer.

Like Paul arriving in
Rome, Joseph arrived in Egypt in chains, his high hopes shattered, and his life
in ruins.  The taunts of his brothers were still ringing in his ears:
“Bye, bye, Joey!  Happy dreams!” What had become of those fine dreams of
his?  Dreams of power, dreams of position, and dreams of the resources and
the riches of the world poured into his lap?  He was a slave!

illnesses recorded in the Bible.  She had a severe malady.  The
problem arose not because our Lord healed her, but because He healed her on the
Sabbath day.  The Lord healing people on the Sabbath day was a reoccurring
source of contention between Himself and the religious rulers.
